As each one is totally handmade the sizes vary slightly. *Not suitable for children under three years. Owing to the length of some fibres young children should be supervised at all times.

Bead PurseBead Purse Ref: 0471
Varying designs. The purses were made in Solapur, India by the wives of donkey owners. Six months of the year these women work in the brick kilns with their husbands and children where the donkeys are used to carry the bricks to and from the kilns. During the months when it is too hot for the brick kilns to operate, the women have been working sorting rubbish on the local rubbish dump. The Donkey Sanctuary has a clinic which operates in Solapur providing treatment for the donkeys and guiding the donkey owners on how to care for their donkeys to keep them fit and healthy and, to provide an alternative income to rubbish sorting, our Project Manager has set up the womens group who make the purses.
